Capital Campaign 

Since the fire at the Wolcott house, Alpha Tau has moved to two separate locations. The undergraduate members who lived in the University Street house and the current house at 1431 East 100 South have valued their experiences, but both have lacked the purpose-built common spaces and living spaces of today’s modern fraternity houses the type of houses enjoyed by Beta Theta Pi and Sigma Chi. While Alpha Tau continues to attract some of the top men, we know we are losing quality potential members to other fraternities that offer better facilities. Beta Theta Pi and Sigma Chi have both built and maintained aesthetically pleasing chapter houses on campus that attract young men and their parents when looking for a place to call home while studying at the University of Utah. Our chapter house has become a part of Alpha Tau’s legacy and is struggling to remain competitive with other housing options on campus. Alpha Tau has long maintained its status as a premier fraternity on campus. Now is the time to renovate our facility in a manner reflective of the quality experience we have provided for decades.
